Q. What is Score Recovery?
A. Score Recovery is a way for you to re-instate lost or deleted scores in your Gradebook.
Q. How do I Recover Lost or Deleted Scores?
A. In the Gradebook, under the other tab, there is an icon for you to click that will allow to start the process for recovering lost scores.
Q. Does Score Recovery work for whole assignments?
A. Currently, Illuminate does not support recovery for assignments.
Q. What are some common scenarios where I would need to use Score Recovery?
A. 1. If you accidentally delete student scores from an assignment in the gradebook.
2.If a student is on your computer and deletes another students scores.
3. If you want to re-instate scores that were wiped out due to a power surge.
Q. Can I recover scores for multiple students?
A. Yes you can recover scores for multiple students at one time.
Q. Can I recover scores that were inputted over 3 months ago?
A. Yes, you can select any given date range and have the system restore those grades.
Q. Is score recovery a permission that I need to ask my administrator to turn on for me?
A. No, score recovery will be a built in aspect to Gradebook 2.0 and will not be a permission based feature.
Q. If I share my gradebook will I need to worry about score recovery since someone else will have access to my gradebook?
A. Yes, you will need to make sure that when you share you gradebook that you do not give the other users the ability to edit the gradebook otherwise other people will have the ability to recover scores.
Common Issues and Troubleshooting
P. I am trying to recover scores but the system tells me that I don't have any scores to recover, what does this mean?
S. If you are getting this message, than it means that no grades have been altered and that your gradebook should be in tact.
P. I know I lost scores for my student, where did they go? I can't seem to find them.
S. Double check your date ranges, chances are you may need to go back a little more.
