Creating a Resource

Resource types can be images, text, video, or websites. One or more types can be used to create a resource. Several resources are then used to create a playlist.

To create a resource:

1. Click Create.

2. Select + Resource.

1. Enter a Title: Each resource requires a title but the description and purpose are optional. Make the title as clear and concise as possible. Create a naming convention for yourself so you can identify your resource in the future.

2.Enter a Description and Purpose: It is strongly recommended to include a description so you have enough information to identify the resource content.

3. Select the Resource Target: This tells the system for whom the resource is designed. You can choose more than one.

4. Select Sharing: Private sharing means only you can view the resource and a password will be required for users to open it. Public sharing means all  Illuminate Resources users can view the resource.

5. Select your Resource Type.

1. Enter the URL and click Continue in the bottom right corner.

Click Browse and Upload. Browse to the file, select it, and click Continue in the bottom right corner.

Click Browse and Upload. Browse to the file, select it, and click Continue in the bottom right corner.

Enter the website address and click Save.

These allow you to add text within your resource.

Add a Standard Alignment

Click Add Alignments.

1. Use the drop down menus to add the type, subject, and grade level.

2. Checkmark any standard(s) you want to align.

3. Click Add Selected Alignment(s).

Edit a Resource

1. Use the paper/pencil icon to open the resource and make changes.

2. Use the trash can icon to delete any resource type.

3. Click the plus sign icon to change the order of the resource types.

Share a Resource

You can share individual resources with other users in multiple ways:

1. From within the resource itself, select the Share button. OR From your 'My Stuff' page, select the checkbox next to the resource and then click Share.

A pop up box will pop up allowing you to share with users, you can select what State, City/District, User, and what permissions you would like to give them. Note, if you give them permission to edit, the changes they make will be reflected on your resource. Click Share when finished.

All playlists that have been shared with you, will be in the 'Shared Resources' tab.

If you accidentally deleted a resource or playlist (or maybe you changed your mind), you can always find these in the Trash. To re-instate them, simple click on the checkbox next to the resource or playlist you would like to un-delete and click the gear icon.
